How much are gutter guards per foot?
Short answer. Per-foot prices run from a small amount for DIY plastic or aluminum screens to many times that for professionally installed stainless micro-mesh, with heavily marketed proprietary systems at the top. A per-foot number only means something once you know your total footage and what the price includes, such as cleaning, gutter repairs, corners, end caps and warranty.
Turn the per-foot price into a total
- Measure every gutter run, or take the footage from your gutter installer's paperwork.
- Multiply by the per-foot price.
- Add anything priced separately: corners, end caps, downspout work, gutter repairs, second-story charges and any minimum job fee.
Two quotes with the same per-foot rate can differ widely once these extras are added, and two with different rates can end up close.
What a per-foot quote should include
- Cleaning and flushing the gutters and downspouts first.
- Resetting sagging sections and resealing leaking joints.
- Guard material, fasteners, corner pieces and end treatments.
- Labor at your house's actual height.
- Written warranty terms: material, performance, or both.
Red flags
- A large discount that disappears if you do not sign today.
- A requirement to replace sound gutters to qualify for the guard.
- A no-clog promise with conditions that make it hard to use.
- Guards that tuck under the shingles.
The lowest effective per-foot cost is usually reached by adding guards when gutters are being replaced, because the prep work is already done. See gutter sizing, seamless gutters and guards and how to choose a roofing contractor in Georgia.
