Are GAF Timberline American Harvest shingles still available, and what replaced them?
Short answer. GAF now treats American Harvest and its Harvest Blend colors as previous collections; some limited inventory may remain, but GAF points buyers to newer Timberline HDZ colors. Its suggested swaps are Midnight Mesa for Appalachian Sky, Cliffside for Nantucket Morning, Shakewood for Golden Harvest, and Sierra Sand for Cedar Falls.
What American Harvest was
GAF launched Timberline American Harvest around 2012 as a designer style color collection, with blends that mixed contrasting tones to suit popular exterior color schemes. Four of the best known colors later lived on as the Harvest Blend collection: Appalachian Sky, Nantucket Morning, Golden Harvest and Cedar Falls.
GAF's suggested replacements
- Appalachian Sky to Midnight Mesa: a Bold Definition blend of dark grays, browns and black.
- Nantucket Morning to Cliffside: a Bold Definition mix of cool, stone like grays.
- Golden Harvest to Shakewood: a light, warm golden tan from the established High Definition palette.
- Cedar Falls to Sierra Sand: a Bold Definition clay toned blend with subtle yellow and blue highlights.
GAF introduced the Bold Definition collection in January 2026 and says it is available nationally.
If your house already has an American Harvest roof
- Check the garage or attic for leftover bundles; they are the best match for small repairs.
- Write down the exact color name from your paperwork.
- If a storm damages part of the roof and the color cannot be found, matching becomes a real issue in the insurance claim. Read about partial replacement and matching.
Choosing for a new roof
Look at full-size samples of the suggested colors outdoors, morning and afternoon, since swatches only approximate the blend. Check your HOA's color rules before ordering. See HOA roof approval in Georgia and best shingle colors for Georgia heat.
